Our younger students explore new mediums as they make artworks on themes like tropical landscapes, fantasy characters and so much more. Each class is based on a movie like Frozen, Moana, Monster's Inc. and others. While the movies provide the theme and the students will get to watch small clips from them, the artworks will bring out their own individual styles as they learn new skills and techniques. They draw a single object, animal or landscape and have an open colour palette.
This course begins with experiments with warm colours and cool colours using pastels and paint. Using some of the children's favorite books like 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and 'Elmer the Elephant', we will explore the crayon resist technique with ink, using tissue paper, a toothbrush and an ear bud to learn various techniques with paint. The artworks will bring out their own individual styles as they learn new skills and techniques. The kids draw a single object, animal or landscape and have an open colour palette. This is a fun workshop that combines two of their favourite things, storytelling and art!
Timing 3 to 4 pm IST
Location: Studio Loco, Alwarpet (Offline)
Days: 05th to 09th May or 12th to 16th May((Monday to Friday each week)
This course for our younger students encourages them to observe the world around them and draw from observation - we keep the shapes simple while experimenting freely with colour and texture. The themes in the class range from animals, objects and even some simple abstraction. We will use the art supplies you have on hand and have a lot of fun.
When you can’t travel the world, create the world with your art kit! This course virtually transports students to a new city each day. We will watch video clips and talk about the food, people, culture, animals and of course art and architecture too. Best of all, we will make our own artwork inspired by the day’s theme. We designed this course last year and it was one of the favourites among our younger students.
From submarines to sail boats, from sharks to turtles and so much more… This wonderful course is a great mix of having fun with art while learning about ecology and ocean life. We will watch clips from movies like Finding Nemo and documentary series like “Our Planet” to inspire our art-making. Simple geometric shapes come together to form a submarine while organic shapes and a little symmetry can create a coral.
Our students are introduced to artists who were change makers and brave creators. Inspired by the books “How to be an Art Rebel” and “Rebel Artist”, this course encourages students to experiment with ideas of abstraction, symbolic portraits, paper sculptures and more. They will also explore revolutionary at movements such as cubism, pop art, surrealism etc.
The students will work with tempera, oil pastels, clay, collage and a variety of other mediums and will make artworks that are fun and messy. We will not use pencils or draw small fussy details - rather the kids will be encouraged to make big sweeping gestures with thick paintbrushes and oil pastels to get satisfying colour results. Unlike our older students, this very young batch will create art that is more
about free painting. This course is truly about the journey and not the destination.
