• Our younger students explore new mediums as they make artworks on themes like tropical landscapes, fantasy characters and so much more. Each class is based on a movie like Frozen, Moana, Monster's Inc. and others. While the movies provide the theme and the students will get to watch small clips from them, the artworks will bring out their own individual styles as they learn new skills and techniques. They draw a single object, animal or landscape and have an open colour palette.

  • This course begins with experiments with warm colours and cool colours using pastels and paint. Using some of the children's favorite books like 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and 'Elmer the Elephant', we will explore the crayon resist technique with ink, using tissue paper, a toothbrush and an ear bud to learn various techniques with paint. The artworks will bring out their own individual styles as they learn new skills and techniques. The kids draw a single object, animal or landscape and have an open colour palette. This is a fun workshop that combines two of their favourite things, storytelling and art!

  • This course for our younger students encourages them to observe the world around them and draw from observation - we keep the shapes simple while experimenting freely with colour and texture. The themes in the class range from animals, objects and even some simple abstraction. We will use the art supplies you have on hand and have a lot of fun.

  • When you can’t travel the world, create the world with your art kit! This course virtually transports students to a new city each day. We will watch video clips and talk about the food, people, culture, animals and of course art and architecture too. Best of all, we will make our own artwork inspired by the day’s theme. The art works will each be a postcard to the country and our students will be encouraged to write a note on the back to whoever they’d like! We designed this course last year and it was one of the favourites among our younger students.

  • We have spent a lot of time with our young artists and now some of their favourite things are also ours. This course is a celebration of all things fun and magical. Of course, we will learn about shapes, proportion and other important building blocks of art, but most of all we will learn to use our imagination and make a world that’s magical and colourful. This course will take inspiration from some of our most loves books and movies too.

  • Does your child love to read about Volcanoes, Crystals, Maps, Fossils and more? Art Integrated Learning at its best - this course touches on various fun facts about the earth which also form the inspiration for the artworks they will create. We will use mixed media - pastels, paits, charcoal and more and learn simple techniques to create cool effects.

  • From submarines to sail boats, from sharks to turtles and so much more… This wonderful course is a great mix of having fun with art while learning about ecology and ocean life. We will watch clips from movies like Finding Nemo and documentary series like “Our Planet” to inspire our art-making. Simple geometric shapes come together to form a submarine while organic shapes and a little symmetry can create a coral.

  • This unique course will allow our young artists to explore a different medium in each class! Students will get to try out Pottery, Sculpting, Collaging and Painting techniques. We will also explore a different theme every day, like animal portraits or fantasy illustrations. Each day, we will have an exciting visiting artist teach their specialization to our students, along with a RainbowFish teacher, who will remain present to encourage discussion for each of the experiences.

  • Hands, clay and fire. Ceramic pottery is an art form based on very simple materials and tools entwined with the unique creativity of an individual. Students learn different techniques, including hand shaping, casting, throwing on the potter’s wheel and more. For the first time at RainbowFish, we will introduce various types of glaze, determining colour and texture. Students experience the joy of seeing unexpected but beautiful surprises from the kiln.

  • This course allows students to explore light and shadow, texture, depth and perspective in its entirety before introducing colour. Students also learn basic outlining with ink and Ink wash Techniques. Our Charcoal, Ink and Watercolors class explores techniques of major artists - both from India and abroad who have mastered these mediums. Our students will experiment with water colours as an illustration Style inspired by major book illustrators

  • Our students are introduced to artists who were change makers and brave creators. Inspired by the books “How to be an Art Rebel” and “Rebel Artist”, this course encourages students to experiment with ideas of abstraction, symbolic portraits, paper sculptures and more. They will also explore revolutionary at movements such as cubism, pop art, surrealism etc.
