Out of stockWhen you can’t travel the world, create the world with your art kit! This course virtually transports students to a new city each day. We will watch video clips and talk about the food, people, culture, animals and of course art and architecture too. Best of all, we will make our own artwork inspired by the day’s theme. The art works will each be a postcard to the country and our students will be encouraged to write a note on the back to whoever they’d like! We designed this course last year and it was one of the favourites among our younger students.

Out of stockStudents will work with a variety of mediums such as tempera paints, oil pastels, soft pastels and collage to create artworks that are fun and exploratory. Unlike our older students, this very young batch will create art that is more about free painting. Students will be encouraged to make big sweeping gestures with thick paintbrushes and oil pastels to get satisfying colour results. This course is truly about the journey and not the destination.

Out of stockDrawing animals is a great way to teach kids art fundamentals like proportion, line, shape, shading and even a little perspective. This course will be very drawing focused and we will limit the number of mediums used so that the students can focus on shape and form. We would encourage them to keep an animal journal through the summer where they draw any animal or bird they see even a cow or a goat or a crow on the street.

Out of stockWe are delighted to use art as a way to introduce children between the ages of 5 and 8 years to the important ideas presented in the series "Our Planet" by the World Wildlife Fund. The themes would be Frozen Worlds, Coastal seas, Jungles etc. and most importantly "What can I do?". This will help them develop a sensitivity to the natural world, appreciate its wonders, and feel like they can make a difference as an individual. Each day we will start with an excerpt from the series, follow that with a discussion and reflection and then create an artwork on the theme.

Students will learn how to translate their drawings and designs into screen stencils, and print them both on paper and fabric. Through this course, students will gain an appreciation of the screen-print medium, and its relevance in the modern day world. It is a creative course that embraces experimentation and art whilst laying down a solid foundation. Students, both beginners and experienced alike, will leave the course with a working knowledge of the entire printing process.
