This course begins with experiments with warm colours and cool colours using pastels and paint. Using some of the children's favorite books like 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and 'Elmer the Elephant', we will explore the crayon resist technique with ink, using tissue paper, a toothbrush and an ear bud to learn various techniques with paint. The artworks will bring out their own individual styles as they learn new skills and techniques. The kids draw a single object, animal or landscape and have an open colour palette. This is a fun workshop that combines two of their favourite things, storytelling and art! -

Our students are introduced to artists who were change makers and brave creators. Inspired by the books “How to be an Art Rebel” and “Rebel Artist”, this course encourages students to experiment with ideas of abstraction, symbolic portraits, paper sculptures and more. They will also explore revolutionary at movements such as cubism, pop art, surrealism etc.-

The Art lab course is designed to introduce students to the Elements of art. They understand these foundational concepts of art through small experiments and explorations. The 6 elements of art students will learn about are line, shape, form, colour, value and texture. Each class will shine light on one element through the work of important artists followed by an activity. Students will also learn to combine one or more elements to create fun and effective compositions.-

Nature has been a great source of inspiration to artists through the ages and our young artists are no exception. In this 6 week course, we encourage our students to look closely at the shapes, colours and patterns of nature. We continue to look at works of great artists, if we draw a rabbit we might look at Rembrandt’s hare but also the illustrations in Peter rabbit by Beatrix potter. As always we pick drawing themes that are fun and help build creative confidence while also reinforcing the elements of art.-

Our younger students innovatively use common everyday materials like fork, wooden blocks, sponges, cardboard and more to create vibrant outcomes. They are introduced to artists such as Heather Hansen who paints using her limbs…Antoni Gaudi who uses ceramic tiles to create mosaics. The course explores themes ranging from animals, trees, still life etc.-

When you can’t travel the world, create the world with your art kit! This course virtually transports students to a new city each day. We will watch video clips and talk about the food, people, culture, animals and of course art and architecture too. Best of all, we will make our own artwork inspired by the day’s theme. The art works will each be a postcard to the country and our students will be encouraged to write a note on the back to whoever they’d like! We designed this course last year and it was one of the favourites among our younger students.-

This unique course will allow our young artists to explore a different medium in each class! Students will get to try out Pottery, Sculpting, Collaging and Painting techniques. We will also explore a different theme every day, like animal portraits or fantasy illustrations.
