The prelude to cartooning. How do we create a drawn character? Maybe it’s a cartoon dog or maybe an eraser with eyes. We will learn not only the drawing aspect of it but how to create expressions, think about accessories also how to draw it in various positions and situations to create a story. This class will touch on our favorite characters from movies like Chip from Beauty and the Beast and Olaf from the movie Frozen and we discuss what is it about a simple character that makes them special. -

Birds of Paradise, Humming Birds, Toucans, Flamingos, Penguins even birds of Prey. Our feathered friends may just be the greatest theme for a young artist. This art course will be a treat for both the artist and naturalist in your child. We will visit forests and meadows around the world from the wilds of Papua New Guinea to the Arctic ice and document the birds as explorers and naturalists like James Audubon did in the past.-

The students will work with tempera, oil pastels, clay, collage and a variety of other mediums and will make artworks that are fun and messy. We will not use pencils or draw small fussy details - rather the kids will be encouraged to make big sweeping gestures with thick paintbrushes and oil pastels to get satisfying colour results. Unlike our older students, this very young batch will create art that is more about free painting. This course is truly about the journey and not the destination.- Timing 3 to 4 pm IST

Folk and tribal art is a great practice for our youngest learners because it uses simple shapes, lines, patterns and bold colours. This course uses some of the children's favorite books to take us into art making with crayon, paint and collage. Each lesson will begin with reading a short story book and discussing it before we start our art activity. We will use an old toothbrush, an ear bud and some other unexpected tools to experiment with paint. This is a fun workshop that combines two of our favorite pastimes – reading and making art!- Age: 4 – 6 Years

Many of the greatest artists were inspired by words… artist Arpana Kaur was inspired by the famous poet Rumi, Contemporary Artist Shilpa Gupta made an installation work inspired by poets who had been imprisoned for speaking their mind. KG Subramanyan’s works were referred to as story paintings because of their narrative qualities. Can we use words in our artwork? A look at typography and calligraphy too. This course looks at words and art. Its not all serious… we would be inspired by limericks and look for that twist in the tale.- Age: 8 – 12 Years
